Finance Manager, Corporate Finance

Lysander Funds is an independent Investment Fund Manager headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, with regional offices in Montreal and Vancouver. This is a fulltime position working from the Toronto office of Lysander Funds. This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Finance.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle of accounting: revenue, expenses, payroll, treasury and financial reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate month end closing, including performing bank reconciliations, posting month-end general journals, and reconciling balance sheet schedules
- Prepare monthly management reporting packages, including but not limited to financial results reporting, trend and variance analysis, financial modeling and projections etc.
- Perform routine tax tasks such as income tax provision calculation (deferred and current) and monthly sales tax returns preparation
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and assist with quarter end and year end auditors’ review and audit of financial statements
- Review and reconcile employee expense reports within the overall finance function
- Prepare and maintain documentation of policies and procedures, and able to collaborate with Compliance and Sales Teams to meet internal and regulatory requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting with strong technical skills and IFRS knowledge, CPA designation is required
- Working knowledge with Canadian taxes: income taxes, sales taxes and payroll taxes etc.
- Experience within the asset management industry is an asset
- Well versed with Microsoft Excel, coding with macros/VBA is an asset
- Analytical and logical thinking
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Efficient, organized, and able to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and confidentiality
- Great attention to detail
- Eager to learn and self-motivated
- Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
